The New Holland L175 is a mid-frame L-Series skid steer with a 60 hp turbocharged Shibaura diesel and New Holland's Super Boom vertical-lift linkage. Super Boom gives it a full 10 ft of lift height and about 29 in of forward reach, so it can load trucks and spreaders that most machines its size can't. Common Issues & Fixes:

• Wheel wobble or chaincase oil leaking at the axle: Worn axle bearings let the shaft move and wipe out the seal. If the shaft splines or bearing surfaces are worn, replace the axle shaft with studs 86546633 or the axle housing 87026231.
• Broken wheel studs or loose wheels: Loose lug nuts snap studs and elongate rim holes. Replace the lug nuts 86979742 and re-torque after every wheel change, and replace a cracked or wallowed-out wheel rim.
• Loader arms or bucket drifting down: Worn cylinder piston seals. Rebuild with the boom lift cylinder seal kit 86570922, the lift or tilt seal kit 86570919 or the bucket tilt seal kit 9610764. If the rod is scored or bent, replace the complete bucket tilt cylinder 87038978.
• Engine running hot: The turbo engine makes more heat than the naturally aspirated L160. Blow out the radiator 87013856 from the fan side daily in dusty work and keep coolant at the full mark. A weeping or noisy water pump SBA145017780 is the next suspect.
• Attachments loose on the plate: Worn coupler pins or a tired latch. Rebuild with the coupler pin and bolt kit 87597878K and replace bent left-hand or right-hand quick attach handles.
• Cracked cab glass: Branches and flying debris break door and front panes. Replace with the cab door glass 86547915 or front center glass 87635930.

Pro Tips:

• Grease the Super Boom pivots daily. The vertical-lift linkage has more pivot points than a radial arm, and dry pins wear the bores.
• Let the turbo cool before shutdown. Idle for a minute or two after hard work to protect the turbocharger bearings.
• Check chaincase oil and wheel play regularly. Catching worn axle bearings early saves the shaft and housing.
• Have your PIN ready when you call. It is the fastest way to confirm fitment.
