The New Holland L215 is a compact radial-lift skid steer from the 200 Series, which New Holland introduced in September 2011. It has a turbocharged 4-cylinder Shibaura diesel, about 20% more horsepower than the L-Series machine it replaced, and a 1,500 lb rated operating capacity. Despite its size it gets a full-size 200 Series cab with keyless start, switchable ISO and H-pattern joystick controls, and optional heat and air. For service, the cab tilts forward after removing two nuts, and the daily checks are grouped behind the rear door. Common Issues & Fixes:

• Wheel wobble or chaincase oil leaking at the axle: Worn axle bearings let the shaft move and wipe out the seal. Rebuild the axle with the axle bearing and seal rebuild kit B93180BK before the shaft or housing is damaged.
• Engine running hot: Small skid steers working hay, bedding and mulch pack the radiator fast. Clean the core from the fan side daily, check coolant level, and replace a leaking or internally plugged radiator 84379152. A weeping or noisy water pump SBA145017780 is the next suspect.
• Machine won't crank or electrical faults at the key: A worn ignition switch causes intermittent no-start and dead-dash problems. Replace with ignition switch A134737.
• Engine won't hold rpm: A stretched or frayed throttle cable lets the engine drop speed under load. Replace with hand throttle cable 84258153.
• Cracked cab glass or leaking door seal: Replace broken lower kick glass 84259722 and worn door glass weatherstripping 84368761, or swap the whole door with the 200 Series door assembly kit NH200DK.
• Attachments loose on the plate: Rebuild with the coupler pin and bolt kit 87597878K and replace bent left-hand or right-hand quick attach handles.

Pro Tips:

• Use the tilt-forward cab for big service jobs. Removing two nuts and washers gives full access to the hydrostatics and hoses, with nothing to disconnect.
• Check chaincase oil and wheel play regularly. A bearing kit is far cheaper than an axle shaft or housing.
• Let the turbo cool before shutdown. Idle for a minute or two after hard work to protect the turbocharger bearings.
• Have your PIN ready when you call. It is the fastest way to confirm filter and glass fitment.
