A failed thermostat that sticks open will prevent the engine from reaching normal operating temperature, while one that sticks closed will cause rapid overheating on applicable John Deere Yanmar-powered skid steers, CTLs, and excavators.
• Note - Not the Same as M811034: This thermostat opens at 76°C (169°F) for the Yanmar 4TNV98 engine family. Do not substitute M811034 (71°C/160°F), which fits the smaller 3TNV84-4TNV86 engine family - the two are not interchangeable.
