Does NOT fit the 430D: Caterpillar does not list 9R-9475 against the 430D, even though the 430D shares most other boom hardware with the 416D and 420D. Measure your old bushing before ordering.
Key Notes:
Part Number: 9R9475 (Caterpillar reference 9R-9475)
Weight: 1.05 lbs
Application: Boom at the boom and dipper cylinder base pin - the bushing that presses into the boom itself where pin 9R-9812 carries the base ends of both the boom cylinder and the dipper cylinder
Location: Backhoe end, in the boom weldment. Not in the cylinder eye - the bushing inside the cylinder eyes at this same pin is 9R-0139, 38 mm long.
Dimensions: 55.32 mm inside diameter, 68.10 mm outside diameter, 50 mm long
Measure Before Ordering: Three Caterpillar bushings share this exact 55.3 mm bore and 68.1 mm outside diameter and differ only in length - 9R-0139 is 38 mm and sits in the cylinder eyes, 9R-0170 is 45 mm and sits at the boom to dipper pivot, and this one is 50 mm. Measure the length of the bushing you are pressing out.
Style/Type: Straight steel sleeve, no grease hole, no cross holes, no grooves
Quantity: Sold individually. The pin passes through two boom bores - count them on your machine.
Interchange Numbers: Works with Caterpillar linkage pin 9R-9812
Serial Number Notes: Confirm the prefix on your machine data plate against the list above. The 430D is not covered.
Material: Steel, low alloy
Condition: Aftermarket replacement part
Shipping Restrictions: Ships within the lower 48 United States only
Common Use Case or Symptoms:
Order this when the boom knocks at the cylinder base pin under load, when the pin has worn a step where it rides in the boom, or when the old bushing measures 50 mm. Both cylinder bases share this pin, so play here shows up as a shudder in the boom and the dipper at the same time.
Why Choose Broken Tractor?
✅ Boom Side Not Cylinder Side: This is the sleeve that presses into the boom casting. The bushings inside the two cylinder eyes on the same pin are 9R-0139 - different part, 12 mm shorter.
✅ Nineteen Machines On One Number: The 424 through the 442D, covering early, B, C and D Series machines on a single part number.
✅ Straight About The 430D: Caterpillar does not list this part for the 430D and neither do we, even though every other boom bushing on our shelf covers it.
