Frequently Asked Questions

What is the right Yanmar excavator seat replacement for a VIO20-3?

Broken Tractor carries a complete vinyl operator seat for the Yanmar VIO20-3 compact excavator, part number 172455-64200. It is a full seat assembly with an adjustable seat position and a built-in operator presence switch. Matching the part number on your old seat is the easiest way to confirm the fit.

Does a Yanmar excavator seat replacement include the seat switch?

Yes, the Yanmar VIO20-3 seat we carry comes with an integrated seat switch. That operator presence switch is part of the machine's safety interlock system. Replacing the complete seat brings back both operator comfort and proper switch function in one assembly.

How do I know when my Yanmar excavator seat needs replacing?

Replace the seat when it no longer gives good support or when the seat switch stops working. A worn seat reduces comfort and adds operator fatigue over a long day. A failed seat switch can prevent the machine from operating or disable the safety interlocks, so it should be fixed right away.

Is a seat cover enough, or should I do a full Yanmar excavator seat upgrade?

A seat cover only hides worn upholstery, while a complete replacement seat also replaces the built-in seat switch. If your Yanmar has comfort problems along with switch or interlock problems, a full seat assembly addresses both. Our VIO20-3 seat is an adjustable vinyl seat with the switch already integrated.

Will the VIO20-3 seat fit other Yanmar mini excavators?

The seat we carry, part number 172455-64200, is listed for the Yanmar VIO20-3. Fitment on other Yanmar models can vary by model and serial number, so compare the part number on your current seat before ordering. For help confirming fitment, call the Broken Tractor parts team at (800) 909-7060.
