Frequently Asked Questions

Which Ford 8N tune up kit do I need, front mount or side mount?

It depends on your distributor. Early 8N tractors used a front mount distributor while later 8N and NAA models used a side mount distributor. Check which distributor your tractor has, then choose the matching kit, since the parts are not interchangeable.

What is included in a Ford 9N tune up kit?

Our Ford 9N tune-up kits are built for the front mount distributor and bundle the core ignition service parts together. The 9N, 2N, and 8N with front mount distributor share the same kit. Review each listing for the exact contents of that kit.

Is there a tune up kit for a Ford 2000 tractor?

Yes, we carry tune-up and ignition kits that fit the Ford 2000, along with 3000, 4000, and related thousand series models. Confirm your engine and distributor type against the listing to get the right kit.

Do you have a plug wire kit for a Ford 600 or 800 tractor?

Yes, we offer a cut-to-length plug wire kit that fits the 8N side mount distributor, NAA, 600, 800, 601, 801, 2000, and 4000 tractors. Cut-to-length wires let you set the correct length for a clean install.

Will one tune up kit fit both my Ford 2N and 9N?

Yes, the front mount distributor kit fits the 9N, 2N, and 8N with front mount distributor. If you are unsure which distributor your tractor uses, match the part number or call our parts team at (800) 909-7060.
