Frequently Asked Questions

What steering clutch discs fit an IH Dresser TD6?

We carry both a fiber steering disc (43729D) and a steel disc (43728D) for the TD6. The steering clutch pack alternates fiber and steel discs, so order the quantity your machine uses.

What is the difference between the fiber disc and the steel disc?

The fiber disc is the friction plate that grips and drives the track, and the steel disc is the separator plate it presses against. Both wear over time and are usually replaced together as a set inside the steering clutch.

Do you have steering clutch parts for the International 500C dozer?

Yes, we offer a fiber friction disc (676834R2), a steel disc (676833R1), a new steering pressure plate (676827R91), and a steering base plate (850676C1) for the 500C. The pressure plate and disc set also cover the 500E.

How do I know which discs fit my TD7E or TD8E?

Fitment can vary by serial number on later machines, so match the part number to your model. For the 100E and 125E some discs fit after serial number 9501. If you are unsure, call our parts team at (800) 909-7060.
