Frequently Asked Questions

Do Cat D5K chain guides fit a dozer without SystemOne undercarriage?

No, the inner and outer chain guides Broken Tractor carries for the D5K and D5K2 are designed specifically for machines equipped with Caterpillar SystemOne undercarriage. They are not compatible with standard undercarriage builds. Confirm your machine's undercarriage configuration before ordering, or call (800) 909-7060 and the parts team can help you verify fitment.

What are the part numbers for Cat D5K2 track chain guides?

The D5K and D5K2 SystemOne chain guides use four part numbers: 345-9609 for the right outer, 345-9610 for the left outer, 345-9635 for the right inner, and 345-9636 for the left inner. Matching the part number on your old guide is the easiest way to confirm you are ordering the right position.

Are Cat dozer chain guides sold as a set or individually?

Broken Tractor sells the D5K and D5K2 SystemOne chain guides individually by position. Left inner, right inner, left outer, and right outer guides are each listed as separate parts, so you can replace only the guides that are worn. Order one for each position you need to replace.

What does a track chain guide do on a Cat D5K dozer?

A track chain guide keeps the track chain properly aligned as it travels around the undercarriage. Keeping the chain on its path helps reduce wear across the undercarriage components. On SystemOne D5K and D5K2 machines, guides mount in both inner and outer positions on each side.

Which Cat dozers does the 262-5867 track frame side cover fit?

The 262-5867 track frame side cover fits the Cat D3K LGP, D3K XL, D3K2 LGP, D3K2 XL, D4K LGP, D4K XL, D4K2 LGP, D4K2 XL, D5K LGP, D5K XL, D5K2 LGP, and D5K2 XL. Unlike the chain guides, the fitment list for this part is not limited to SystemOne undercarriage. Check that your model and LGP or XL configuration matches the list before ordering.
