The Case CX145D SR is a 14.5-ton D-Series short-radius excavator built for confined-space utility, urban, and general site work. The D generation brought Tier 4 Final emissions compliance, electrohydraulic control, and a refined cab to the platform between the smaller CX145C SR and the larger CX160.

The CX145D SR runs a Tier 4 Final common-rail diesel through a hydrostatic dual-path drivetrain into a steel-track undercarriage. The main hydraulic pump - a load-sensing piston pump - feeds boom, dipper, bucket, swing, and propel circuits through electrohydraulic control valves. Electrohydraulic control gives the D-Series smoother modulation and better fine-feathering compared to the earlier C-Series.
