Case 1021G Wheel Loader: Current G-Generation Large Production Wheel Loader
The Case 1021G is Case's current production-class wheel loader at the 1021 size - Tier 4 Final emissions with full DPF, DEF, and SCR aftertreatment, a power-shift drivetrain, and the G-series cab. It succeeds the 1021F and sits between the 921G and 1121G in the G-series production sequence.
Where the 1021G fits in the Case wheel loader line
The 1021G is the current production version of Case's 1021 platform - successor to the 1021F and a sibling to the 921G below it and the 1121G above it in the G-series production sequence.
The G-generation took the Case large production wheel loader to full Tier 4 Final emissions: diesel particulate filter (DPF), diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) dosing, and a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst. Drivetrain remained the proven power-shift transmission with articulated frame steering. Cab refinements, telematics, and an updated electronic control architecture round out the G-series changes.

What changed from the 1021F to the 1021G
- Emissions. Tier 4 Final aftertreatment with DPF, DEF dosing, and SCR catalyst replaces the earlier Tier 4 Interim configuration.
- Electronic controls. Updated engine, transmission, and machine ECUs with refined calibration and improved diagnostics.
- Cab. Updated G-series operator station with refined climate control, monitor display, and control layout.
- Telematics. Current-generation telematics module integrated from the factory.
- Drivetrain. Power-shift transmission carried forward with calibration updates.
Engine, hydraulics, and drivetrain
The 1021G runs a Tier 4 Final Case diesel through a power-shift transmission feeding articulated front and rear axles with planetary final drives and wet-disc service brakes. The implement hydraulic circuit drives the loader linkage with a piston pump and electrohydraulic control valves. Articulation steering is hydraulic, with steering cylinders pivoting the front frame against the rear frame at the center articulation joint.
The aftertreatment system carries the full Tier 4 Final package: DPF for particulate control, DEF tank and dosing module feeding the SCR catalyst for NOx control, and an EGR cooler in the engine intake circuit. Common-rail fuel injection demands tight water separation and clean fuel.
Common service items on the 1021G
- Aftertreatment: DPF cleaning, DEF tank and dosing module, SCR catalyst service, NOx sensors, DPF pressure sensors, EGR cooler.
- Engine internals: Case Tier 4 Final diesel pistons, rings, sleeves, bearings, gaskets, and engine mounts. R49482 engine motor mount is a recurring service item.
- Fuel system: Common-rail injectors, high-pressure pump, lift pump, water-separator filtration, fuel filters.
- Cooling system: Radiator, charge-air cooler, water pump, thermostat, fan, hoses, belts.
- Loader hydraulics: Piston-pump rebuilds, cylinder seal kits, electrohydraulic control valves, hoses.
- Articulation steering: Steering cylinder seal kits, articulation pivot pins and bushings. G109152 steering cylinder bushing fits 521F, 621, 721, and 821 series.
- Loader components: Bucket teeth, cutting edges, bushings, pivot pins, quick coupler.
- Drivetrain: Power-shift clutch packs, transmission, axle seals, planetary final drives. Transmission shift lever assembly available.

Need a part for your Case 1021G Wheel Loader?
Aftertreatment components, common-rail fuel system parts, and power-shift drivetrain components are the highest-value items on a 1021G. Call our parts team with your machine serial number.
Request a PartWhat to verify before ordering
- Generation matters. The 1021-series saw multiple generations (F, G). Confirm by machine serial before ordering generation-specific parts.
- Serial number. Confirm the serial on the left machine frame near the front axle.
- Engine serial. Case diesel internal parts must match the engine serial number.
- Aftertreatment configuration. DPF, DEF, and SCR part numbers can vary across the G-series production run.
- Cab vs. ROPS canopy. Operator station equipment varied.
- Telematics module. Telematics hardware revisions vary across the production run.
Why the 1021G still earns a paycheck
The 1021G is Case's current production-class wheel loader at the 1021 size. Tier 4 Final emissions, DEF dosing, integrated telematics, and the refined G-series cab make it a fleet-ready machine for production loading, aggregate handling, and waste applications.
Maintenance priorities on a 1021G: clean fuel and tight water separation (common-rail injectors don't tolerate contamination), DEF quality and DPF/SCR service per the Case schedule, clean cool hydraulic oil, brake service intervals, and articulation joint inspection. Broken Tractor stocks parts coverage across the G-series and earlier generations.
