The Ford 3930 Utility Tractor, manufactured from 1990 to 1999, is a versatile and reliable machine from Ford’s 30 Series. Maintenance Essentials

Common Issues & Quick Fixes

  • Hydraulic lift drops or jerky – Replace lift piston O-rings and inspect control valve

  • PTO slipping under load – Check and adjust clutch or replace worn PTO hub

  • Brake drag or fade – Install new brake kits with return springs

  • Cold start issues – Replace glow plugs and test voltage across relay

Serial Number Location

  • Stamped behind the starter on the engine block pad

  • Also found on an ID tag on the right side of the transmission housing

  • Serial numbers begin with “A3930XXXXX” or model/production code identifiers

Pro Tips

  • Use Ford M2C134D hydraulic/transmission fluid to maintain PTO and lift performance

  • Clean hydraulic sump screen and replace filters regularly to avoid lift delay

  • Grease all loader and 3-point pivot points every 10–15 hours to prevent wear
