The Ford 2810 Utility Tractor is a member of the Ford 10 Series, produced from 1983 to 1990. Designed for mid-sized farm and utility tasks, the 2810 combines power and durability with easy maintenance. Its reliable 3-cylinder diesel engine, responsive hydraulics, and straightforward mechanical systems make it ideal for mowing, loader work, light tillage, and general agricultural operations.

Common Issues & Quick Fixes

  • Hydraulic lift fails or jerks – Replace piston O-ring and check lift control valve

  • PTO won’t engage or slips under load – Inspect clutch pack or linkage

  • Brake fade or pull to one side – Install new brake shoes and actuators

  • Hard starting in cold weather – Replace glow plugs and test battery/alternator

Serial Number Information

  • Location: On the flat boss behind the starter on the engine block

  • Serial number format: May start with BB or C2810XXXXX

  • ID tag may also be found on the transmission housing

Pro Tips

  • Use M2C134D hydraulic/transmission fluid to protect PTO and lift components

  • For improved winter starting, upgrade to high-output glow plugs

  • Grease all loader or lift pivot points every 10 operating hours to avoid pin wear
