The 50G is the largest of the small-mini G-Series mini excavators — above the 35G and below the 60G. With approximately 5.0 tons operating weight, the 50G provides more dig depth and reach than the 35G while staying small enough for residential and light commercial work.

The G-Series modernized the JD mini excavator line with refined hydraulics, Yanmar diesel power, and an updated operator station. The 50G shares a meaningful amount of service hardware with the rest of the mini line — particularly the cab glass and bucket linkage components.

Engine, hydraulics, and undercarriage

The 50G runs a Yanmar diesel through a hydrostatic drive into a rubber-track undercarriage. Yanmar engines are well-supported across the small-equipment aftermarket and parts coverage is strong. The hydrostatic drive feeds dual travel motors plus the implement and swing circuits through a main pump and control valve.
